Photography, filmmaking, art direction and brand-building for places and brands worth knowing.
Working internationally with hotels, design houses and editorial brands since 2012. Based between Norfolk and London. Founder of Compendia.
I'm an interdisciplinary creative who works at the start of a project — bringing concept, photography, film and brand thinking into the same brief rather than handing them off to different people. Most useful when there's still room to shape what the work becomes.
The hospitality and brand commissions are where most of my time goes — recent work for The Hoxton, 25hours, 1 Hotel, Inhabit, Naturalmat, Aesop, Lavenham, Bellroy, Plumo, Fujifilm UK, ARMEDANGELS, TAKT, TALA and 3daysofdesign.
Alongside that, I run Compendia — a design-led editorial platform producing cinematic city guides and long-form brand partnership content with hotels and design houses across the UK and Europe.
I work this way because I built things before I photographed them. My twenties were spent founding platforms, launching brands, publishing books, painting murals, opening cafés, throwing parties, and producing projects long before they were on a brief. That entrepreneurial instinct is the part of my work that's harder to outsource — it means I think like a founder when I'm photographing for one. I understand the commercial reality behind every brand I work with.
Beyond the commercial work, my interdisciplinary art practice lives at Samu Studio — a space that houses all things art, design, music, and movement.
